Narcissism is possibly one of the most annoying, most destructive personality disorders out there. Those suffering from narcissism often use people to their advantage and their gain.
Someone with a narcissistic personality disorder will always find it quite challenging to be remotely empathetic and caring. These people require admiration and attention 24/7. They need to know that they’re the only ones you want.
Those who have narcissistic personality disorder tend to be highly self-absorbed and arrogant. Unfortunately, these people are pretty selfish, manipulative, and demanding, and they really couldn’t care who they hurt. They’re always convinced that they’re not the problem and that other people are.
Symptoms of Narcissistic Personality Disorder
The signs and symptoms of someone who has narcissistic personality disorder are:
Sense of entitlement
Since they consider themselves quite special, they always expect favors and treats from everyone and anyone. These people have the mindset that whatever they want, they should have. They believe that everyone should comply with whatever they say and wish.
This is what many know as the defining definition of narcissism. This is the most unrealistic sense and form of superiority. These people believe that they’re extraordinary.
Those suffering from NPD believe that nobody is better than them. They’re always in the hero state when talking about themselves.
Need constant admiration/praise
Those suffering from NPD need constant praise for their work regardless of how poorly they did it.
If you don’t praise them or compliment them, then you’re nobody to them, and you don’t deserve their attention.
If you at any moment tell them they’re not as great as they think they are, it would be an absolute betrayal.
They live in a world of fantasy
Narcissists live in a fantasy world because reality doesn’t support their grandiose views of their lives and themselves. People suffering from NPD believe that they’re the most attractive, smartest, and highly successful.
If anyone threatens to burst their distorted bubble of life, you’ll experience their wrath, and they’ll never forgive you.
They exploit others
Since people with NPD don’t feel empathy, they cannot put themselves in the shoes of others. They love exploiting people’s weaknesses, even for malicious purposes.
These people are only concerned about their needs and wants. If anyone else “selfishly” needs anything, they’ll be cut off for being inconsiderate.
They’re frequent bullies
Narcissistic people can’t stand people who challenge them, so they have to be the first ones to make the first move.
They have to dominate and instill fear in those around them because they believe they should be feared.
Anybody who threatens their inflated ego would be put down, insulted, and threatened until they back down.
People are their props and stepping stones without compensation.
People with narcissistic personality disorder live in a distorted world where everything is perfect and run the show and people.
NPD can be tough to identify at the beginning because of how charming they are and how magnetic they seem.
These people are master manipulators that can make themselves seem like the victim in every situation.
