You know, back before many of us in society realized what a potentially dangerous thing it was to do, I think we used to romanticize the idea of what later became known as stalking.
Today we realize that this is not normal behavior and often leads to tragedy. If you find yourself on the verge of stalking an ex-boyfriend or girlfriend, you need to step back (literally and figuratively) and rethink your plan.
Not only can stalking your ex-boyfriend or girlfriend get you in trouble with the law, but it is also the last thing you would want to do if you plan on reuniting with your ex.
Let’s face it – it’s creepy. You couldn’t get much further away from “romantic” if you tried.
Besides the creepy element is the genuine fact that it makes you look like someone most people wouldn’t even be attracted to, which is desperate.
If you want to try to reunite with your ex, there are far more effective and less felonious ways of going about it.

Here are a few healthier options to let your ex know you still care and would like another chance:
1 – I know that very often, in relationships, we love our games
But in this case, why not grow up, put the games aside and come right out and tell your ex what you want? Namely, you want them back. What is the worst that can happen? They will say no.
What you need to do is take time to realize is that if you go up to them and tell them you are sorry (assuming it was you who did the bulk of the screwing up) and that you want to work things out and they say, “no” then no amount of stalking or anything else will change their mind anyway.
This will be painful for you and maybe even a little embarrassing, but so what? We all go through these types of things during our lives. If they don’t want you back, they don’t want you back.
Becoming a creepy stalker will not change that.
2 – If you can’t seem to garner the courage to ask the right to their face, then the next best thing is to talk to a mutual friend.
Tell the friend what you would tell your ex (maybe don’t be quite as emotional about it).
Ask them to find out if your ex would be interested in trying to work things out.
Or at least interested in meeting with you to talk about things. Asking someone to act as an intermediary can be less intimidating for you but still a grown-up thing to do.
It’s much better than skulking around in the bushes hoping to get a glimpse of your ex before you get arrested.
3 – Send them a letter or card and tell them that you would like to meet and talk
Again, you have to face the fact that they may say no. But if they do, then that means in their minds, the relationship is over and done with.
That will be a painful realization for you but better to get it over with right away so you can heal and move on than to linger with false hopes for months.
Hey, few things are less attractive than desperation. Sure, depending on the type of person your ex is, they may get off on the power trip of you still wanting them back, but it’s not helping your cause.
These tips will give you the best shot at getting back with your ex while avoiding prison. Use them instead of resorting to stalking your ex-boyfriend or girlfriend.
